La Paranza, a Varese landmark

Located in the center of Varese, La Paranza is a restaurant and pizzeria that has built a special relationship with its customers over the years. A place for all kinds of occasions and moments, it has maintained a distinctive identity and a strong connection with the city and the people who visit it.

Who We Are

La Paranza was born in 2007 from the dream of brothers Pietro and Attilio Epifano, originally from Puglia and adopted by Varese. After years of experience in the restaurant business, they chose to build a place together, founded on trust, respect, and the value of people. For us, La Paranza is much more than a restaurant: it’s a big family, made up of staff and customers who have helped write its story over the years.

What Is a Paranza?

The term “Paranza” refers to a traditional Italian boat from the central Adriatic, once found all along the coast between the mouth of the Savio River and the Gargano Peninsula. Like all traditional boats, the Paranza was the result of a complex historical evolution and adaptation to the needs imposed by both its use and its environment. These boats were generally used for deep-sea fishing with trawl nets and, to a lesser extent, for local transport. We chose this name because of our love for the sea and its wonderful produce.

Our approach to food and hospitality

Our cuisine is the result of a journey shaped by experience, passion, and ongoing discovery. We start with the recipes that have accompanied us over the years, respecting their origins while making room for new interpretations. This approach comes to life in our menu, where seafood dishes, land-based fare, and pizzas express the different sides of La Paranza. Every choice reflects the way we work: careful attention to ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and a desire to improve every day.

A place for encounters and stories

Over the years, La Paranza has also had the pleasure of welcoming familiar faces from the worlds of entertainment and sport. These encounters add to the many memories made around our tables and are part of the restaurant’s story. For us, every guest helps make this journey special.
